For a TIC501, the minimum distance depends on the installation angle of the 2D LiDAR
sensor to the lane.
If the speed of the passing vehicles is high, a larger installation angle is needed for data
collection. If the expected speed of the vehicles is too high, a smaller installation angle is
sufficient.

Please note: The larger the installation angle, the larger the minimum distance between
two vehicles.
If it is expected that the speeds will be slow and the vehicles will drive close to one
another, then select an installation angle of 20° to 25°.
Background: With a large installation angle and low speeds, vehicles driving close to one
another would not be correctly separated and detected as a vehicle.
