4. Stop the engine.

then remove the thermo sensor 2 .
6. Connect the special service tool

then place the thermo sensor

in a con-
tainer of water and slowly heat the water.
7. Measure the thermo sensor resistance at
the specified water temperatures.
8. Remove the special service tool
1
,
install the thermo sensor
2
, and then
connect the thermo sensor coupler.
9. Install the manual starter and driven
sprocket cover. See “Installing the man-
ual starter” (7-10). (Manual starter
model)
Install the flywheel magnet cover and
driven sprocket cover. (Electric starter
model)
Checking the oil pressure switch
1. Disconnect the oil pressure switch con-
nector

.
2. Start the engine, and then measure the
oil pressure switch
1
input voltage.
3. Stop the engine.
4. Remove the oil pressure switch 1 .
5. Connect the special service tool 2 to the
oil pressure switch.
6. Apply positive pressure to the oil pres-
sure switch
1 slowly, and then check
that continuity changes to no continuity in
the range of the working pressure.
Replace the oil pressure switch if the
continuity does not change to no continu-
ity in the working pressure range.
