5.2.2
OPERATION CHECK
Refer to the INSTRUCTIONS B manual for directions on how to set the operating parameters described in this
paragraph.
- Activate the main switch on the main electrical cabinet: look at the screen to make sure the PC start-up operations
are correct and that no warning or error messages appear.
- Place a piece under the camera.
- Activate the continuous acquisition control and check illumination device operation by making sure the image of
the piece to be inspected is seen.
- If necessary, make the appropriate adjustments on the camera and lights by following the instructions given in
INSTRUCTIONS TYPE
B.
- Once the configuration is efficient, adjust the guides and shooting sensor. Acquire images of moving pieces using
the synchronized acquisition control with the sensor.
- Once the correct acquisition of the moving image has been obtained, adjust the ejection station position, the
ejection position parameter and the ejection duration parameter. Make sure the ejection station is operating
properly by checking the air pressure values.
- If the reject control sensor is provided, adjust the position and tolerance with the parameters provided.
- Adjust the inspection parameters and start product learning.
- Set the system to inspection mode.
- Inspect the correct and defective pieces, making sure that the defective ones are ejected. Adjust the inspection
parameter sensitivity again, if necessary.
- Set the system to STOP mode.
- Save the product.
5.2.3
OPERATION OF THE PANEL OF THE SPARK TESTER DEVICE
This device detects micro-holes and construction defects in plastic caps.
5.2.3.1
Operating principles
The SPARK TESTER consists of two main parts:
- the control unit
- an electrode.
The control unit
: this part controls and adjusts the voltage and test discharges.
Electrode
: this item groups together the feeler and high voltage generation unit that creates testing voltage to be
applied to the caps.
The operating principle consists in submitting each cap to continuous voltage, which can be adjusted up to 15 kV, and
making sure that the cap thickness assures the needed electric insulation. If a micro-hole is present, or the bottom
of the cap is thin, the applied voltage generates an electric discharge that goes through the cap. The defect is then
detected by the control unit placed inside the control panel.
