4.1 Power
On
Once all of the disk drives have been properly installed and the I/O ports or
management interfaces have been connected, the subsystem can be powered
on.
4.1.1 Check
List
BEFORE
powering on the subsystem, please check the following:
Memory module:
The cache memory usually comes as a pre-
installed module. If a separately-purchased memory is applied,
make sure the memory module has been correctly installed on the
controller boards.
BBU:
For dual-controller models, BBU(s) are also pre-installed.
Make sure BBU(s) have been installed correctly.
MUX Kits:
Also the pre-installed modules.
Hard drives:
Hard drives have been correctly installed in the drive
trays.
Drive trays:
All the drive trays, whether or not they contain a hard
drive, have been installed into the subsystem.
Cable connections:
The subsystem has been correctly connected to
host computer(s) or external networking devices.
Power cords:
The power cords have been connected to the PSUs
on the subsystem and plugged into the main power source.
Ambient temperature:
All subsystem components have been
acclimated to the surrounding temperature.
