Noise Superimposition
DG4000 supports to superimpose a gauss noise onto its output signal. This
function is called noise superimposition. The signal superimposed with noise can
be used to test the anti-noise capability of the instrument.
Press
Utility
CH1Set
NoiseSum to turn on or off the noise superimposition
function. The default is "Off". When this function is "On", you can use the numeric
keyboard or the direction keys and knob to set the noise ratio; the settable range is
from 0% to 50% and the default is 10.0%. When Mod, Sweep or Burst is enabled,
this menu is grayed out and disabled.
Range
Press

CH1Set
Range and select "Auto" or "Hold". The default is
"Auto".
Auto: the signal generator selects the optimum settings for the output
amplifier and attenuator.
Hold: disable the auto optimization to eliminate the waveform discontinuity
caused by the on/off of the relay when the amplitude is modified; while, the
amplitude range might be affected.
DDS Hold
Press
Utility
CH1Set
DDS Hold and select "On" or "Off". The default is
"Off".
When the "DDS Hold" of CH1 and CH2 are both set to "On" and the instrument is
not powered off, the two channels will always be in the align phase state (at this
point, the align phase state of the two channels will not be affected when you turn
on or off the output of any of the two channels) after an align phase operation is
executed. When only the "DDS Hold" of CH1 (or CH2) is turned on and the
