The ballast resistors in a ResPas system are designed for larger
amounts of power. They have large heat sinks and can even have ac-
tive cooling in some circumstances. You can obtain further information
from your sales partner and Regatron support.

Q14 ResAct option
Function
ResAct systems help to expand the system characteristics of TopCon
series power supplies.
The basic problem
As a rule power supplies based on primary switching cannot absorb any
generated or reactive power from the load side.
The solution
On systems with low voltages and power with simultaneously high sys-
tem dynamic performance,
the ResACT system operates similarly to the ReGen system. Controlled
by the TopCon power supply, a second system (E-
Load) “helps” to en-
sure the power returned from the load (Load) is consumed.
The power is converted into heat.
Compared to the ResPas system, however, the ResAct system also
provides the characteristic of a real controller. The ResAct sub-system
is controlled by the TopCon power supply.
