14. Care and maintenance
You have to perform regular checks and maintenance work on your model helicopter to ensure its operational
safety.
Check the tail rotor at regular intervals. In case of contact with grass or soil, completely remove any residues from the
rotor blades. After each ground contact, check the tail rotor blades for visible damage.
Oil the sliding sleeve on the tail rotor at regular intervals. Test the smooth running of the tail rotor drive as well as the
control.
Check the main rotor head after each flight. The rubber rings in the rotor head lose their elasticity over time and must
be exchanged.
The joint socket of the control may become loose and jump off after a short time in case of improper installation.
Therefore, check its tight fit before each flight day.
If the main rotor comes into contact with the ground, you also have to exchange the main rotor shaft and the blade
bearing shaft besides the rotor blades. Always check the smooth running of the ball bearings in this context.
The screw attachments may become loose due to vibrations. Therefore, check their tight fit after each flight day.
Experience has shown that this effect often occurs with metal screw attachments.
Ensure an undamaged, well-tightened cogged belt and a well-adjusted tooth flange play on the motor/main drive
cogged wheel. For checking and adjusting the drive parts, please note the instructions in point a) "Disassembling the
mechanics".
Important!
If you have to replace damaged or worn parts, only use original replacement parts in your helicopter.
The spare parts list is located on our Internet page www.conrad.com in the download section to the respective
product.
You can also order the spare parts list by phone. For the contact data, please refer to the top of these
instructions in the chapter "Introduction".
Clean the exterior of the model and the remote control only with a soft, dry cloth or brush. Never use aggressive
cleansing agents or chemical solutions, because they might damage the surface of the housing.
