The typical procedure when measuring the transmission loss (attenuation) caused by a
bumper is as follows:
1. Start the R&S QAR.
The software starts automatically. For more information, see Chapter 5.2.2,
"Graphical User Interface" , on page 45.
2. Normalize the measurement, as described in Chapter 5.2.3.1, "Normalization" ,
on page 48.
3. Place the bumper to measure in the right position, as described in Chapter 5.2.1,
"Test Setup" , on page 45.
4. Measure the attenuation, as described in Chapter 5.2.3.2, "Attenuation Measure-
ment" , on page 49.
5. Save the measurement results, if needed.

5.2.1 Test Setup
► Place the bumper between the R&S QAR and the reference reflector, at a mini-
mum distance of 30 mm from the reflector pins.
