Refer to the datasheet for power rating and electrical safety compliance.
1. Make sure that the protective ground connection is established.
For more information, see "Protective ground connection" on page 12.
2. Connect the power cable to the AC inlet.
3. Connect the power cable to the mains supply.
4. Turn on the main power switch (position "I").
The R&S QAR is supplied with power.
See Chapter 3.1, "Main Power Supply" , on page 11 for more information about the
AC inlet and the main power switch.
Turning on the R&S QAR
► Press the power button.
The system boots. The software installed on the integrated PC starts automatically.
If the software does not start automatically, start it manually double-clicking the
shortcut on the Windows desktop.
You can now use the R&S
QAR.
See Chapter 3.2, "Power Button" , on page 12 for more information about the power
button.
Warm-up time
Let the R&S QAR warm up for at least 90 minutes before using it.
Turning off the R&S QAR
► Press the power button.
The system shuts down.

Disconnecting the R&S QAR from the mains supply
1. Turn off the main power switch (position "0").
The R&S QAR is disconnected from the mains supply.
2. Remove the power cable from the mains supply.
4.5 Operating System
The R&S QAR contains Windows 7 Embedded operating system.
Update Windows 7 Embedded as described in the next subchapters and change the
configuration only to add new devices or update the network settings.
