Use the SSL page to perform the following tasks:
• Enable or disable SSL on the DXi4000 (see Enabling SSL on
page 196).
Note: If you enable SSL, see Server Authentication Warnings on
page 197 for important information about Web browser
settings.
• Install a new SSL certificate (see Installing an SSL Certificate on
page 197).
Enabling SSL
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is a protocol that provides security and
privacy over the Internet by negotiating encryption keys before
transmitting data between a client and a server.
To establish a secure connection, the DXi4000 must have an encryption
key assigned to it by a Certification Authority in the form of a certificate
file, private key file, and pass phrase. After you install these
components, you can establish a secure connection using the SSL
protocol. The DXi4000 comes with a Quantum default SSL certificate.
To enable or disable SSL:
1 Under SSL Properties , select the Enable SSL option to enable SSL.
Or select the Disable SSL option to disable SSL.
