THE NEED FOR SOURCE MODE
Sink Mode is the preferred method when setting up the matrix with audio installations, as it provides the
most flexibility with automatic audio routing and support for ARC.
However, there are occasions where Source Mode might be required instead, depending on the type of
install and the customer’s needs. Source Mode provides a fixed audio de-embedding from each of the
attached HDMI sources (Bluray, STB, etc).
Some installers might find the need to configure their audio matrixes, preamps & amplifiers without the
need for automatic routing or ARC. In those cases, Source Mode should be enabled and set it up
according to their layout.
