3. SWITCH MANAGEMENT
This chapter explains the methods that you can use to configure management access to the Managed Switch. It
describes the types of management applications and the communication and management protocols that deliver
data between your management device (workstation or personal computer) and the system. It also contains
information about port connection options.

3.1 Requirements

Workstations running Windows 2000/XP, 2003, Vista/7/8/10, 2008, MAC OS9 or later, or Linux, UNIX ,
or other platforms compatible with TCP/IP protocols.

Workstation is installed with Ethernet NIC (Network Interface Card)

Serial Port connect (Terminal)
• The above PC with COM Port (DB9/RS-232) or USB-to-RS232 converter

Ethernet Port connect
• Network cables - Use standard network (UTP) cables with RJ45 connectors.

The above workstation is installed with Web Browser and JAVA runtime environment plug-in
