Chapter 3

Configuring Display Settings

Before you configure your system for the Sun Common 
Desktop Environment (CDE) or OpenWindows, you need 
to set the monitor mode for your board. DOME provides a 
default monitor mode that you can either use or override.

Read the following sections before you configure CDE or 
OpenWindows:

• Using the Default Monitor Mode (page 91)

• Overriding the Default Monitor Mode (page 93)

• Using Visual Classes (page 96)
