Note: All procedures are done with the power completely removed. Adhere to all warnings in this manual.

Lamp Socket
Vari-Lite Part No: 71.8101.0050
To replace lamp socket:
Step 1. Remove lamp following the procedure described in “Lamp Removal and Installation” on
page 13 .
Step 2. Remove rear cover following the procedure described in “Rear Cover Removal” on page 62 .
Step 3. Detach lamp cover door tether from back of luminaire head and set cover aside.
Step 4. Remove rear plate by removing 4 x 6-32 x 3/8" PPZ SEMS screws.
Step 5. Remove wiring from socket by loosening set screws inside socket.
Step 6. Remove 3 x 10-32 x 2" PPB screws, washers, and springs holding lamp socket plate.
Step 7. Noting orientation, remove 2 x 8-32 x 1 ¼" PPZ screws mounting socket*.
Note: *There should be two washers, one between socket and plate at each screw. If missing, replace
with Vari-Lite part number 55.6517.0001.
Step 8. Replace in reverse order.
