Switching on the Instrument

Insert the key into the laser power key switch on the rear panel of the
RamanStation 400 and ensure that it is turned to the ARM position.
The RamanStation 400 is supplied with two keys. One should be placed in the
instrument the other should be stored in a safe place. Replacement keys (L1323503)
can be obtained from PerkinElmer. A laser safety officer or Lab manager can control use
of the instrument with these keys.

If your instrument is fitted with a deep depletion CCD, connect the 7.5 V PSU
(L1323525) from the DD POWER socket on the rear panel to a mains power socket.

If your instrument is fitted with a deep depletion CCD, connect the Tygon tubing
between the water recirculator (L1323010) and the WATER IN/OUT connectors on the
rear panel, fill the storage tank of the cooler with deionized water and then plug in and
switch on the recirculating cooler.

with the system.

Connect the instrument power supply (large PSU with 8 pin connector) to the
RamanStation 400 MAIN POWER
socket and then switch on (Figure 21).
The instrument power cable has a red band around the end. The Main Power socket is
indicated by a red dot. Do not connect to the AUX POWER connector.
