gateway and IP router in a company branch office.

The IC-4BRV-8V interface card provides four ISDN BRI ports and is frequently used to interconnect existing
ISDN PBXs over an IP network.
All four ports of the PBX are connected to the IC-4BRV-8V interface card BRIs, providing a maximum of
eight concurrent ISDN B-channels. The voice data is transferred via the integrated voice gateway in the Smart-
Node 2000 series via Ethernet port ETH 0/0. Depending on the call procedures defined by the software run-
ning in the SmartNode 2000 series, voice data is formatted as H.323 compliant or ISoIP voice streams.
