I/P Adapter

Use these notes with your EtherNet I/P adapter module
installation instructions, publication E104P, and wiring
diagrams, publication PSS-WD004.
Version 1.033
We corrected the following anomaly in fi rmware version 1.033.
Corrected Anomalies
• If you remove a series of I/O modules under power and
one of the removed modules is replaced, the adapter
may make an I/O connection to the replaced module,
even though the adapter should not let this connection
take place. For example, if you have established I/O
connections to I/O modules in slots 3, 4, and 5, then
remove these modules and re-insert only the module from
slot 3, the adapter may make an I/O connection to slot 3.
The adapter should not let this connection take place
until you replace the modules for slots 4 and 5 as well.
• If you inhibit and then un-inhibit an I/O module that is
participating in the rack-optimized connection to the
adapter, an error is returned indicating the module is in
use. If the I/O module is an output module, the outputs
hold their last state when the module is inhibited until
the adapter has been reset.
Compatibility
If you use the adapter with an Allen-Bradley 1756-ENBT
module or 1788-ENBT module, use the following fi rmware
versions for these bridge modules:
• 1756-ENBT fi rmware version 2.3 or greater
• 1788-ENBT fi rmware version 1.33 or greater
If you use the BootP Utility to assign IP addresses to the
adapter, use version 2.3.2 or greater.
