1. CABIN
• Ignition off
• Main switch on, check fuel level, check instruments
• Main switch off
• Check range of movement of all controls, condition of safety harnesses
• Remove loose objects from cabin, check canopy – cleanliness
• Check rescue system - must be locked to prevent inadvertent activation
2. FUSELAGE, WINGS AND TAIL SURFACES
• Check surface condition, leading and trailing edges
• Check Pitot tube (remove protective cover)
3. CONTROL SURFACES, WING FLAPS
• Range of movement and free play of all control surfaces
4. LANDING GEAR
• Check wheels for free rotation, tire inflation 2,5 bar (36 psi), attachment to airframe, check brakes,
attachment of wheel fairings, check tire is correctly seated and not slipping around the rims
5. ENGINE, PROPELLER, FUEL SYSTEM
• Check fuel level and cleanliness, check propeller and attachment to engine
• Check oil level (according to engine manufacturer’s manual), check coolant
• Check engine cowling fastening
• Check tightness of fuels hoses, tank caps, fuel filters
• Check fuel filter for impurities and water
8.3. ENGINE STARTING
1. AFTER ENTERING COCKPIT
• Rudder control → free movement check
• Flight control → free movement check
• Brakes → check of function
• Fuel gauge → check of fuel quantity
• Instruments → condition check
• Altimeter → set QNH or the field elevation
• Seats → check securing against forward and backward movement
• Safety harnesses → fasten and tighten (when flying alone, fasten the copilot belts too)
• Ignition switch → OFF
• Cockpit doors - closed and latched
