2. DURING TAKE-OFF RUN
• Throttle → idle
• Ignition switch → off
• Brakes → as necessary
3. DURING TAKE-OFF (IN AIR)
• Gliding speed → maintain speed 60 kts (110 km/h) minimum
• Altitude → below 300 ft (90 m): land in take-off direction, maneuvering the aircraft out of obstructions
• Wind → evaluate direction and velocity
• Flaps → as necessary
• Fuel valve selector → OFF
• Ignition → OFF
• Safety harnesses → tighten
• Main switch → OFF
7.3. EMERGENCY LANDING
• Gliding speed → maintain speed 60 kts (110 km/h) minimum
• Altitude → over 300 ft (90 m): choose suitable landing area
• If flight altitude allows it, try restarting the engine according to the next paragraph (7.3)
• If engine restart unsuccessful or flight altitude is below safe level, choose suitable landing area
• Gliding speed → maintain speed 60 kts (110 km/h) minimum
• Altitude → below 300 ft (90 m): land in take-off direction, maneuvering the aircraft out of obstructions
• Wind → evaluate direction and velocity
• Flaps → as necessary
• Fuel valve selector → OFF
• Ignition → OFF
• Safety harnesses → tighten
• Main switch → OFF
Side slipping the aircraft by cross controlling the rudder and ailerons will increase the rate of descent
both with and without flaps. If a crosswind exists, place the lower wing into the wind.
7.4. RESTARTING ENGINE IN FLIGHT
May be only performed at safe flight altitude to allow safe emergency landing with engine off.
• Fuel valve selector → open, check amount of fuel in selected tank
• Fuel pump → ON
• Ignition → ON
• Throttle → up to 1/3 of throttle, not more
• Airspeed → 65 - 75 knots (120 – 140km/h)
• Press start button
If engine starting is unsuccessful, then continue according to section emergency landing.
