1
Connect the Terminal Units
together.
Join the Terminal Units to each other by connecting their
side connectors. Attach a connector cover to the right
side of the last Terminal Unit.
26
2
Mount the Terminal Units to the DIN
Track.
Mount the joined Terminal Units to the DIN Track. To
secure the Terminal Units after mounting, always attach
an End Plate to each end.
27
3
Connect the RS-485 communica-
tions cables (only if required).
When using a multiblock configuration for the Tempera-
ture Controllers connected to the DeviceNet Communi-
cations Unit, connect RS-485 communications cables to
the RS-485 communications terminal (terminals 23 and
24) of the E5ZN-SCT24S Terminal Unit on the left side of
each block.
31
4
Connect the power supply to the
Terminal Unit.
Connect a 24-VDC power supply to the power supply
terminal (terminals19 and 20) of the E5ZN-SCT24S Ter-
minal Unit on the left side of each block.
Note
Do not turn ON the power supply at this time.
This power supply is used as the internal circuit
power supply of the Temperature Controllers and
the communications power supply between the
DeviceNet Communications Unit and the Temper-
ature Controllers.
30
5
Wire the Temperature Controllers.
Wire the Temperature Controllers, including the tempera-
ture inputs and control outputs, using the Terminal Unit
terminals.
Note
Do not turn ON the power supply to the peripheral
devices at this time.
---
6
Connect the Temperature Control-
lers to the Terminal Units.
Align each Temperature Controller with the guide on the
corresponding Terminal Unit and push in until it clicks
into place.
29
7
Set the unit numbers of the Tem-
perature Controllers.
Set the unit numbers of all the Temperature Controllers
using the upper rotary switch on the Temperature Con-
troller. Assign a unique unit number for each of the Tem-
perature Controllers connected to a single DeviceNet
Communications Unit.
---
8
Set the baud rate of the Tempera-
ture Controllers to 38,400 bps
Set the baud rate of all the Temperature Controllers by
setting the lower rotary switch on the Temperature Con-
troller to 3 (38,400 bps).
12
9
Set the DeviceNet node address.
Set the DeviceNet node address (0 to 63) for the
DeviceNet Communications Unit. Set the ten’s digit using
the upper rotary switch on the front panel, and the one’s
digit using the lower rotary switch on the front panel. Set
a unique node address for each slave connected to the
same master.
