- Take all possible precautions when leaving
the machine unattended. Disengage the
cutter and stop the engine.
- Run the machine a few minutes after
throwing snow to prevent freeze-up of the
cutter.
- Stop the machine if it tends to deviate from
the direction of travel; it checked by an
authorized service center.
5.1 Preliminary Operations Before
Starting Work
Before starting work, it is necessary to carry out
a series of checks and operations on the
machine to ensure maximum safety and
productivity.
1. Check the safety and efficiency of the
machine
• Check that the security devices operate
as indicated.
• Make sure that the handlebar is in the
correct working position and is tightly
fastened. A loose handlebar may cause
you to lose control of the machine.
Rotor accessory
• Check the wear condition and tightness
of the cutter.
2. Check
tyres
• Check tyres are inflated to the correct
pressure
3.
Check work areas
WARNING: Do not use the machine
unless you are able to call for help in the
event of an accident.
WARNING - If the machine comes into
contact with foreign objects, walls, or if
metal wire or mesh become entangled in
the cutting tool, this may cause the
machine to kick out suddenly or even
overturn resulting in serious damage or
injury to the operator or bystanders.
- Make sure that there are no people or
animals in the work area.
- Before you start the engine, make sure the
cutter is not in contact with any object.
- Make sure you can move and stand safely.
- Thoroughly inspect the area in which you
will be working. Check the surrounding area
for possible obstacles (roots, rocks, branches,
ditches, etc.).
- Beware of the presence of pipes, metal
cables, drain or manhole covers, and
sprinkler systems.
- Make sure there are no pipes and/or electric
cables buried in the ground.
Filling
CAUTION: The manual indicates what type
of oil and fuel to use.
Oil
CAUTION: THE MACHINE IS SUPPLIED
WITHOUT OIL. Add engine oil before
starting the machine. The tank’s capacity is
about 0,6 litres.
CAUTION: Running the engine with
insufficient oil can cause serious engine
damage. Be sure to check the engine on
a level surface with the engine stopped.
Then unscrew the cap (A, Fig. 17). With the
engine stopped, check its oil level which must
be between the MIN and MAX marks on the
dipstick.
Add the engine oil slowly to avoid overflowing,
as the engine oil tank capacity is small.
Every 10 hours, check the engine oil level and
replenish oil up to the top of the oil filler neck if
the engine is operated for more than 10 hours
continuously.
Use 4-stroke, or an equivalent high detergent,
premium quality motor oil certified to meet or
exceed U.S. automobile manufac turer ’s
requirements for service classifications SG, SF.
Motor oils classified SG, SF will show this
designation on the container. SAE 10W-30 is
recommended for winter use.
The recommended operating range of this
engine is –25 °C to 5 °C.
