Replacing the fuser unit
When "ORDER FUSER UNIT" is displayed on the display of the operator panel, prepare a
replacement fuser unit. The next message will be displayed after approximately 5,000 sheets
are printed.
When "FUSER UNIT LIFE" is displayed, replace the fuser unit.
The guideline for replacing the fuser unit is approximately 100,000 sheets when printing on
216 mm x 58 mm paper one sheet at a time.
•
The actual printable pages before replacing the fuser unit varies with the usage conditions.
•
Since continued use even after "FUSER UNIT LIFE" is displayed may cause a malfunction, please replace the fuser
unit immediately.
•
Use the fuser unit until the end of its life and then replace it. If the removed fuser unit is used in other machines,
the fuser unit life is not displayed correctly.
•
If [ADMIN SETUP] - [PANEL SETUP] - [NEARLIFE STATUS] is set to [DISABLE], the system will not show "ORDER
FUSER UNIT".
•
Because the image drum (i.e. the glossy cylinder) can easily get damaged, handle with adequate care.
•
Do not expose the image drum to direct sunlight or strong light (approx. 1,500 lux or above). Do not leave it
uncovered for more than 5 minutes even under room lighting.
•
You can change the timing of displaying the message "ORDER FUSER UNIT". Set it in [ADMIN SETUP] - [OTHERS
SETUP] - [NEARLIFE SETUP] - [FUSER NEAR LIFE] from the operator panel. The value range is from 500 to 5,000 (in
increments of 500).
