CAUTION

Be sure to disconnect the battery plug before

measuring.

If using a megger, do not touch the measuring

terminals.

1. Remove all diodes from the transformer.

2. Use a megger to measure the following locations and

check the insulation.

Between the primary and secondary coils.

Between the primary coil and the steel core of the coil.

Between the secondary coil and the steel core of the coil.

1. Set the tester to the resistance (

) x 1 range.

2. Apply the positive (+) and negative (-) proves to

Anode(A) and Cathode(K) (or vice versa) to check the

resistance.

1. Measure the resistance to check the diode.

1. Check for damage or dirt.

If there is dirty or dusty, clean it away with compressed air.

2. Measure the insulation resistance.
