Your motorhome is equipped with a hitch and tow plug, as it is designed for towing light loads. Your hitch
may provide you with the capability of towing your car or trailer while traveling. A wiring harness or pigtail
is needed to connect tail lights, brake lights, turn lights, etc. of the towed vehicle with that of the coach.
Some coach models feature rear docking lights to assist with tow vehicle hookup at night.
Hitches and Towing Components
Prior To Towing
Prior to towing, inspect all towing connections, including
the hitch mounting bolts for unusual wear or corrosion.
Check the mounting flanges for any deformation, as well
as the hitch welds for any cracks, signs of movement,
or fatigue in the hitch assembly. Safe and satisfactory
performance of the towing system depends on the type
of towing equipment connected to the hitch receiver. The
assembled length of the drawbar/towing system used
should be kept to a minimum. Do not exceed the rated
capacities of the hitch or the components used to attach
the towed vehicle or trailer.
Towing Capacity
The total weight of the motorhome and any vehicle
towed must not exceed the GCWR (Gross Combined
Weight Rating). When planning to tow, approaching
the GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating) may reduce
the motorhome’s towing capacity. When weighing the
motorhome, be sure to take passenger locations into
consideration. The towed vehicles must have adequate
active brakes. Contact your state Department of
Transportation or your local Newmar dealer for your state
requirements.
To close the ramp/door, reverse the opening process.
Rotate the hinged ramp cover back into the stored
position, then swing the garage door/ramp back into
the upright position. Once it is fully retracted, rotate the
locking arm into its stored and locked position, and make
sure it latches securely.
WARNING
!
Be sure to keep hands, fingers, and other body parts,
as well as clothing, clear of the loading ramp/door
and its associated moving parts when opening or
closing it. Failure to do so could result in bodily injury
and/or damage to the door and coach.
Utility Shed
Perfect for those looking for extra space, the utility shed
easily accommodates a variety of outdoor equipment
using a Gladiator® bracket system (if equipped) that
makes hanging and securing your gear easy. Once inside,
there are plenty of unexpected features to be found,
including washable diamond tread rubber flooring. The
utility shed is accessible via a side-entry door with ramp
and triple step.
There are a variety of informational and safety labels
located in and around the shed area of your coach.
It is critical that all of these labels are read and
understood prior to using your coach to ensure safe
operation.
