This section describes the POST error codes and messages.
POST Error Codes and Messages
Whenever a recoverable error occurs during POST, BIOS displays a message on the
video display screen and causes the speaker to beep as the message appears. BIOS also
issues a beep code (one long tone followed by two short tones) during POST if the
video configuration fails or if an external ROM module does not have the correct
checksum. The BIOS indicates errors by writing an error code to the PS/2-standard log-
ging area in the Extended BIOS Data Area, and by displaying a message on the screen,
which is sometimes preceded by the POST Error Code. The error code will also be
logged to the Event Logging area.

Floppy Disk Fail
Keyboard error or no keyboard present
Plug in a keyboard or change it to another one.
Hard Disk(s) Diagnosis fail
Warning: the boot devices have been
changed. BBS boot priority will be
affected. Please enter Setup to check.
Enter the BIOS setup utility and make the
required changes.
Memory Test Fail
Replace (or re-install) the memory modules.
CMOS battery fail
Replace the CMOS battery.
CMOS checksum error - Defaults loaded
CMOS contents failed the Checksum check.
Indicates that the CMOS data has been
changed by a program other than the BIOS or
that the CMOS is not retaining its data due to
malfunction. This error can typically be
resolved by using the BIOS Setup.

Please re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS
Setup and remember to save before quit.
