
3-20 Disassembly and Reassembly
Power Supply Removal
Remove the power supply as follows.
Before removing the system cover, turn off the power and unplug the
system power cable. Power is removed only when the power cable is unplugged.
1.
Turn off the system and any connected peripherals.
2.
Unplug the system AC power cord and any peripheral power cords.
3.
Disconnect any attached peripherals.
4.
Remove the system cover (see “System Cover Removal”).
5.
Press the device bracket lock on the side of the bracket, raise the bracket up enough to
unplug the CD-ROM drive cables, and raise the bracket to its vertical position.
6.
Remove the hard drive from its bay (see “Hard Drive Removal”).
7.
Tag and unplug the power cables from the system board and from all installed devices.
8.
Remove the two screws holding the power supply to the rear of the chassis.

9.
Slide the power supply towards the front of the chassis enough to clear the edge of the
chassis and the flanges on the base of the chassis.
10.
Lift the power supply out of the chassis and set aside.
11.
Install the replacement power supply by reversing steps 1 through 10.
