The rear of the system has the following external ports, connectors, jacks, voltage switch, and
expansion slots.

Keyboard port — attach a PS/2-compatible keyboard (101-key or 102-key) with a 6-pin
mini DIN connector to this port.
!
Mouse port — attach a PS/2-compatible mouse to this port.
!
Printer port — attach a parallel printer with a 25-pin connector to this port.
!
USB port — use the USB port to connect up to 127 USB configured peripheral devices such
as a printer, monitor, modem, mouse, and scanner. A second USB port is on the front of the
system.
!
Serial port — Serial port 1 (COM1) allows connection of serial devices with 9-pin
connectors. The devices include a pointing device, serial printer, or modem.
!
LAN port — use this RJ-45 compatible port to attach a network cable to the system’s
onboard LAN.
!
VGA monitor connector — attach a video graphics array (VGA)-compatible monitor
(NEC MultiSync
®
monitor or other VGA-compatible monitor) with a 15-pin connector to
this connector.
!
Line in jack — use this jack to connect a stereo audio device such as a stereo amplifier,
cassette, or minidisc player for playback or recording.
!
Line out jack — use this jack to connect the optional speaker set. Also use to connect an
amplified output device such as powered speakers, stereo tape recorder, or an external
amplifier for audio output.
!
Voltage switch — use this switch to set the voltage for the system at 115 Vac or 230 Vac.
!
Expansion board slots — use these slots to install up to three optional PCI boards (for
example, graphics, fax/modem, sound boards).
