Disassembly and Reassembly 3-7
Install a DIMM module as follows.
1.
Remove the cover, if not already removed.
2.
As necessary, remove any installed DIMM module(s).
3.
Select a DIMM module (see “System Memory” in Section 1).
Before installing a DIMM module, reduce static discharge by touching a
metal part on the chassis.
4.
Align the notches on the new DIMM with the keys in an empty DIMM socket (see the
following figure).

5.
Press the DIMM module firmly into the socket until the clips at both ends of the socket
click closed.
6.
Replace the cover.
Note
If there is a discrepancy in the amount of memory displayed at the Power-On Self Test
or in Windows with the amount of memory installed, check that the memory modules are installed
correctly.
