Removing the System Board and Support Plate Assembly

Support Plate Removal
Remove the support plate from the system board as follows.
Note
:
The support plate must be removed from the
system board to remove the network board, CPU fan, PC
card bay, or CMOS battery. The support plate does not need
to be removed if removing the processor and heat sink.
1.
Remove the system board and support plate assembly (see “System Board
and Support Plate Removal” earlier in this section).
2.
Position the assembly so that the processor side of the system board is facing
up. Use care to prevent damage to the diskette drive and CD-ROM drive
cables on the system board.
3.
Remove the network board screw securing the support plate and network
board to the system board (see the following figure).
