Repeat step 1 above if another VRM is to be installed. Otherwise, go to the

Reinstall the top cover of the CPU module. See

earlier in this chapter.
Removing a Processor or Terminator Board
1.
Remove the appropriate CPU module from the server chassis. See
Removing
a CPU Module
earlier in this chapter.
2.
Remove the top cover of the CPU module. See
Installing a Processor
earlier
in this chapter.
3.
Locate the processor or terminator board socket on the CPU board. See
Installing a Processor
earlier in this chapter.
4.
If you are removing a terminator board, refer to
Installing a Processor
earlier in this chapter. Otherwise go to the next step.
5.
Remove the heat sink from the top of the processor by inserting a small
screwdriver into the slot on its wire clip bracket and release the wire clip
bracket. See Figure 4-20.

6.
Swing its processor socket lever up until it is in the unlocked position and
carefully remove the processor. See Figure 4-21.
