7. Battery and battery pack notes
• Batteries/battery packs are not designed for children.
• Do not leave batteries/battery packs lying around, there is a risk that these may be swallowed by children or pets.
In the event of such, immediately see a doctor.
• Batteries/battery packs may never be short-circuited, dismantled or thrown into fire. There is a risk of explosion!
• Leaking or damaged batteries/battery packs may cause burns to the skin. In the event of such, use suitable protec-
tive gloves.
• Conventional batteries may not be recharged. There is a risk of fire and explosion! Only charge battery packs that
have been designed for the purpose. To do so, use suitable battery chargers.
• Pay attention when inserting batteries/battery packs to always ensure the correct poling (pay attention to the plus
+/minus - poles).
• In the event of a longer period of non-use (e.g. when storing), remove the batteries (or battery packs) from the
remote control and the model in order to prevent damages caused by leaking batteries/battery packs.
• Charge the battery pack approximately every 3 months otherwise the self-discharging process may lead to a so-
called deep discharge which will render the battery pack useless.
• Always replace an entire set of batteries or battery packs. Do not mix full with half-full batteries/battery packs.
Always use batteries or battery packs of the same type from the same manufacturer.
• Never mix batteries with battery packs! Use either batteries or battery packs for your remote control transmitter.
It is possible to operate the remote control (transmitter) with battery packs instead of batteries.
The lower voltage (batteries=1.5 V, battery packs =1.2 V) and the smaller capacity of battery packs results
in a reduction in the operating time. This is not usually relevant since the operating time of the transmitter
is considerably longer than that of the model.
If you put batteries into the remote control, we recommend using high-quality alkaline batteries.
8. Charging the battery packs
In subsequent sections of the instructions, the numbers in the text refer always to the neighbouring Figure
or to the Figures within the section. Cross-references to other Figures will be specified along with the
appropriate Figure number.
The Mignon battery packs required for the remote control are usually empty on delivery and must be charged.
