The front airbag, knee airbag, side airbag
and curtain airbag systems, and preten-
sioner system should be inspected if there
is any damage to the front end or side
portion of the vehicle. It is recommended
you visit an authorized Mitsubishi Motors
dealer for this service.

If you need to dispose of a airbag or
pretensioner or scrap the vehicle, it is
recommended you visit an authorized
Mitsubishi Motors dealer. Correct airbag
and pretensioner system disposal proce-
dures are set forth in the appropriate
Mitsubishi Motors Service Manual. Incor-
rect disposal procedures could cause per-
sonal injury.

If there is an impact to your vehicle from
any direction, your Occupant Classifica-
tion Sensor (OCS) should be checked to
verify it is still functioning correctly. It is
recommended that you visit an authorized
Mitsubishi Motors dealer for this service.
The OCS should be checked even if no
airbags deploy as a result of the impact.
Failure to verify proper OCS function may
result in an improper airbag deployment
resulting in injury or death.

When you transfer ownership of the
vehicle to another person, we urge you to
alert the new owner that it is equipped
with the SRS and refer that owner to the
applicable sections in this owner’s manual.

If you decide to junk or scrap your vehicle,
we urge you to first take it to an authorized
Mitsubishi Motors dealer so that the SRS
can be made safe for disposal.

If any of the following parts needs to be
modified for use by a handicapped person,
the advanced airbag system will be greatly
affected. Please consult an authorized
Mitsubishi Motors dealer.
