1-2-2 Storage of Piping Materials
1. Storage location
Store the pipes to be used indoors. (Warehouse at site or owner's warehouse)
If they are left outdoors, dust, dirt, or moisture may infiltrate and contaminate the pipe.
2. Sealing the pipe ends
Both ends of the pipes should be sealed until just before brazing.
Keep elbow pipes and T-joints in plastic bags.
The new refrigerator oil is 10 times as hygroscopic as the conventional refrigerating machine oil (such as Suniso) and, if not
handled with care, could easily introduce moisture into the system. Keep moisture out of the pipes, for it will cause the oil to
deteriorate and cause a compressor failure.
1-2-3 Pipe Processing
Use a small amount of ester oil, ether oil, or alkylbenzene to coat flares and flanges.
 Use a minimum amount of oil.
 Use only ester oil, ether oil, and alkylbenzene.
