Electrolytic Cell Replacement
Generally, the cell will have a production life of several thousand hours. However, the life of
the cell is affected by salt and water quality, water hardness, pH, and alkalinity. It is
essential that
≥
99.5% pure salt is used, with concentrations of Ca
≤
0.03%, Mg
≤
0.02%,
and Mn
≤
0.005%. If the following four conditions exist simultaneously, a replacement cell
may be required:
1. Oxidant temperature is high with normal water and brine flows
2. High brine pump voltage
3. Chlorine production is significantly below normal level
4. Salt consumption is increased.
Returning an Old/Damaged Cell
You may return a defective product to your original point of purchase, or the authorized
MIOX dealer or distributor from whom you purchased the product. Please confirm the terms
of its return policies prior to returning the product. Typically, you must include product
identification information, including installation site name, system serial number and
number of hours the cell has been used with a detailed description of the problem you are
experiencing. Pack the cell in original packing materials or equivalent to prevent damage
during shipping. Please call MIOX Customer Service or your MIOX distributor for questions
regarding service or cell replacement.
