Modes of Operation
The modes of operation of the OSG are: Standby, Startup, Run, Self Clean, Stop,
Diagnostics and Shutdown. Normal operational sequencing involves entering Run mode to
fill the oxidant tank. Once the oxidant tank is full, the OSG transitions to Shutdown and
then Standby mode. When the oxidant tank reaches a low level, the OSG will transition from
Standby to Startup and then Run mode.
Standby Mode
Idle mode when the oxidant tank is full.
Startup
Startup mode verifies initial OSG condition, initiates and verifies cooling system function and
external Dilution Air system (if applicable) function. If all functions are operational, the
water will flow into the cell, power is applied and the brine pump will turn on. Cell and brine
pump speed increase until cell current set point is reached.
Run Mode
In Run mode, the brine flow is adjusted to achieve and maintain the current set point to the
cell.
Self Clean Mode
For self-cleaning MOS models, the requirements to enter into a self-cleaning mode are
based upon number of hours of operations since the last cleaning. When the hours of
operation are reached for a required self-cleaning, the self-cleaning mode will occur on the
next Startup. Self-cleaning mode is not available for Hypo (non-self-cleaning)
configurations. For additional cleaning measures, refer RIO-S Acid Wash Procedure 102-
00012 or Contact MIOX Customer Service.
Stop Mode
The operator can access Stop mode by pressing the Stop button on the HMI while the unit is
in Startup/Run mode. When the Stop button is selected, the OSG will enter a normal
shutdown. To re-start the system, the Startup/Run button must be selected on the main
screen of the HMI. Then the Reset button can be selected in the FAULT page.
