OSG’s can be controlled in either local or remote control mode. In local control mode the
system is controlled by two sets of contacts which are typically embedded in a float switch.
If both contacts are closed, the system starts and runs. If both contacts are open, the
system stops running and goes into standby. In remote control mode, the system uses
SCADA commands to start and stop. MIOX typically provides two types of oxidant tank level
control options:
‐
Pressure Transducer, submersible with digital output.
‐
Level Float (Magnetic Reed) Switch, High/Low
Oxidant Level Pressure Transducer Installation
Similarly to a brine pressure transducer, a GF Signet Pressure Transducer can also be used
to monitor the Oxidant levels in the tank. Refer to the manufacturer’s manual for installation
guidelines. The transducer connects to the OSG via one of the lower external connections
described in Figure 10 in the Electrical Overview section of this manual.

Level Switch Installation
For MIOX-supplied oxidant storage tanks, the level switch is shipped loose in the tank. If the
oxidant storage tank is not shipped with the RIO-S OSG, the switch is shipped separately.
