Diagnostic Mode
Diagnostic mode allows the user to individually test each output. Diagnostic mode is only
accessible from Stop mode. Diagnostic mode is accessed from a button on the main screen.
Once in Diagnostic Mode, the operator can monitor inputs and toggle outputs. Once the
operator leaves the Diagnostic page, all I/O are set to off.
Shutdown Mode
There are three types of Shutdown modes from the Startup/Run mode:
1.
Normal Shutdown - is used when the system is shutting down for a fault that
causes the OSG to shutdown normally. Normal shutdown includes a water flush
function to clear brine from the cell.
2.
Immediate Shutdown - is used when the OSG needs to shut down without a
water flush. Immediate shutdown occurs with Leak Detect, Hydrogen Monitor,
Safety Interlock and E-Stop activation.
Bank Enable - Setup
All RIO-S units will come factory set with all banks enabled per the nameplate capacity.
Bank Enable provides flexibility of selecting which bank(s) to operate. The benefit being
while performing maintenance, a bank can be disabled which will allow the rest of the
system to continue to run. Bank Enable selection is located on Setup Page and can only be
selected when the unit is in Stop or Fault Mode. If a bank is disabled on the HMI, it must
also be isolated hydraulically preventing water/brine from entering a disabled bank. This is
done by closing the bank isolation valve located on the water side of the bank. Refer to
figure 4, Cell Bank Isolation Valve and figure 26 below for additional clarification.
