WARNING Risk of accident despite
Active Blind Spot Assist
Active Blind Spot Assist does not react to the
following:
R
if vehicles overtake too closely on the
side, placing them in the blind spot area
R
vehicles approaching and overtaking you
at a greatly different speed
As a result, Active Blind Spot Assist may nei‐
ther give warnings nor intervene in such sit‐
uations.
#
Always pay careful attention to the traf‐
fic situation and maintain a safe dis‐
tance at the side of the vehicle.
If a course-correcting brake application occurs,
the red warning lamp flashes in the outside mir‐
ror and a warning tone sounds. In addition, dis‐
play
1
indicating the danger of a side collision
appears in the multifunction display.
In rare cases, the system may make an inappro‐
priate brake application. This brake application
may be interrupted at any time if you steer
slightly in the opposite direction or accelerate.
System limitations

appropriate to the driving situation, or none at
all, may occur in the following situations:

located on both sides of your vehicle.
R

R

®
is deactivated.

detected.
