Standby mode (extension of the starter bat‐
tery's period out of use)
Standby mode function

This function is not available for all models.
If standby mode is activated, the vehicle can be
parked for an extended period of time without
losing power.
Standby mode is characterised by the following:
R
the starter battery is preserved.
R
the maximum non-operational time out of
use is displayed in the multimedia system
display.
R
functions such as interior protection or tow-
away protection are not available.
R
the connection to online services is interrup‐
ted.
If the following conditions are fulfilled, standby
mode can be activated or deactivated using the
multimedia system:
R
the engine is switched off.
R
the ignition is switched on.
Exceeding the vehicle's displayed non-opera‐
tional time may cause inconvenience, i.e. it can‐
not be guaranteed that the starter battery will
reliably start the engine.
The starter battery must be charged first in the
following situations:
R
the vehicle's non-operational time must be
extended.
R
the
