18. Pull the bearing house straight back off the
shaft.
19. When reinstalling the bearing house,
orient the screw holes for the speed sensor
to the right side of the bearing house.
20. Slide the bearing house onto the shaft.
Make sure to center the shaft in the bearing
house so it does not touch the seals.
21. Push the bearing house on as far as
possible.
22. Insert a long bolt through a thrust bearing
and a bearing cup. Thread bolt into shaft.
23. Center the cup on the bearing housing.
Tighten bolt to pull the shaft in through the
bearing house.
12. The bearing house will begin to separate
from the tub support as the jack bolts are
tightened. When the bearing house is loose,
pull it straight back off the shaft.
13. Seals and bearings are visible in the front
of bearing house. This has triple lip seals to
avoid water reaching the bearing.
14. The preferred method to remove the
bearing housing is with a gear puller. Install
a bolt into shaft that has a hole in the head.
15. Install a gear puller into the weep holes in
the bearing housing.
16. Begin to turn the bolt on the gear puller,
pushing against the bolt in the shaft. Expect
to hear a popping sound as the inner race of
the bearings slide off the shaft.
17. When the bearing house is loose, remove
the gear puller.
