Reverse Gear
The gearshift lever must be returned to
the neutral position before shifting to
reverse (R). The reverse lock ring located
immediately below the gear shift knob
must be pulled upward while moving the
shift lever to the reverse (R) position.

CAUTION
• Shift to reverse (R) only after your
vehicle is stopped. Shifting into
reverse (R) while your vehicle is
m o v i n g c o u l d d a m a g e y o u r
transmission
• When downshifting from fifth (5)
gear to fourth (4) gear, caution
should be taken not to inadvertently
press the gearshift lever sideways
in such a manner that the second (2)
gear is engaged. Such a drastic
downshift may cause the engine
speed to increase to the point that
the tachometer will enter the red
zone. Such over revving of the
engine may possibly cause engine
damage. Fully depress the clutch
pedal before shifting to prevent
transmission damage
WARNING
Shifting down while driving on wet,
snowy, or frozen roads, or driving at
high speeds causes sudden engine
braking, which is dangerous. The
sudden change in tyre speed could
cause the tyres to skid. Failure to
comply can lead to loss of vehicle
control and an accident.
