Jacking Precautions Jacking Points
Jacking up the vehicle
Position the jack at the correct jacking
point as shown. Make sure the jack is
positioned on a level and solid place.
CAUTION
When jacking, be sure to observe
t h e f o l l o w i n g t o r e d u c e t h e
possibility of personal injury:
• Follow jacking instructions
• Do not start or run the engine
while your vehicle is supported by
the jack
• Stop the vehicle on a level firm
ground and firmly apply the parking
brake. Block the wheel diagonally
opposite to the one being changed.
CAUTION
Make sure to set the jack properly in
t h e j a c k i n g p o i n t . R a i s i n g t h e
v e h i c l e w i t h j a c k i m p r o p e r l y
positioned will damage the under -
body of the vehicle or may allow the
vehicle to fall off the jack and cause
personal injury.
• Never get under the vehicle
when the vehicle is supported by
the jack alone
• Use the jack only for lifting your
vehicle during wheel changing
• D o n o t r a i s e t h e j a c k w i t h
someone in the vehicle
• When raising the vehicle, do not
p l a c e a n y o b j e c t s o n t o p o f o r
underneath the jack
• R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e o n l y h i g h
enough to remove and change the
wheel
