Fastening the Seat Belt
•
Adjust the seat as required and sit
straight and well back in the seat.
•
To fasten the seat belt, pull out the
belt from the retractor and insert the
metal tab into the buckle. A “click”
sound comes when the tab locks into
the buckle.
•
The seat belt automatically adjusts
to the proper length only after the lap
belt portion is adjusted manually so
that it fits snugly around the hips
•
If the passenger leans forward in
slow motion, the belt will extend and
allow the passenger to move around.
If there is a sudden jerk or impact,
the belt will lock into position. It will
also lock if the passenger tries to
lean forward too quickly
•
If you are not able to pull out the
seatbelt from the retractor, firmly pull
the belt out and release it. Then you
will be able to pull the belt out
smoothly
NOTICE
Seat belts are designed to bear upon
the bone structure of the body, and
should be worn low across the front
of the pelvis, chest and shoulders as
applicable. Wearing the lap section
of the belt across the abdominal
area must be avoided.
WARNING
• The shoulder part of the seat belt
must never run across your neck
but must run approximately over the

part of the belt must run across the
h i p a n d m u s t n e v e r b e r o u t e d
across the stomach. It must always
fit snugly. Adjust the belt webbing
as required.
• The lap part of the belt should be
positioned as low as possible at the
pelvis of an expectant mother in
order to avoid exerting any pressure
on the lower abdomen.
• Always ensure that the webbing of
the seat belts is properly routed.
Seat belts which are not correctly
adjusted can themselves cause
injuries even in minor accidents
• A seat belt which is hanging too
loose can result in injuries as your
