QUESTIONS
Setup and Configuration:
No Color
:
•
Check Video Format setting under Configuration tab.
Restoring Factory Settings
:
•
The factory settings of the memories can be restored through the Menus on MCP-601-IR remote.
Follow the on-screen menus instructions.
Video colors do not match VGA colors
:
•
The DVI input gives direct digital conversion and therefore is the most accurate.
•
The MagniCoder Premier analog VGA input to video color transcoding is setup at the factory using
professional quality waveform monitors and vectorscopes. If the video monitors calibration is
unknown, it is recommended that the color bar signal supplied with the Magni Premier application
software be used. The Color Bar signal can be displayed on the VGA monitor by the Test Pattern
button on the Mix tab. With the Color Bar signal, adjust the video monitor’s brightness, contrast,
saturation, and hue adjustments to match the VGA monitor or for the best match to the standard 8
color bars display.
Operation:
Toolbars or graphics on the edges of VGA display are missing on the video display
:
•
Picture monitors typically over-scan the video signal. Some studio picture monitors have an under-scan feature
which can display the entire active video signal. For picture monitors that do not have the underscan feature,
the MCP-601 provides an UNDERSCAN MODE. Underscan mode can be activated on the Mix tab to reduce
the size of the graphics and it puts a black border around the video display.
Key Colors R, G & B values
:

On the Key tab, Select Key Color area, each value for Standard, Transparent and Video key may be
entered in the number boxes. After entering each number press enter on the keyboard for that color
component to take affect. Press Send Color for that color to be selected as key. The DVI interface
from the VGA card and SDI video input is digitally accurate. There is a potential offset between
each VGA card’s analog RGB output and analog video input of the MCP-601. In both cases, it is
advisable that Get Key is used to get the color and these numbers to be recorded for later re-entry.
Best Keying Operations
•
Refer to the section “Setting up Keying and Graphics Filters” on optimizing the keying signal by
filter settings and by selecting a MagniPort size within the VGA graphics resolution (VGA Zoom 1
to 1 mode) to map the native resolutions of the TV standard.
Magni Premier memories
:
•
There are ten memories that are stored in the MCP-601. Each memory location includes all
information on the unit settings and loaded via the Magni Premier software.
•
The first five memories are recallable from the FX-1 Controller. All ten memories can be recalled
from the MCP-601-IR or via RS232/USB with the Magni Premier software.
