8. FX-1 EFFECTS CONTROLLER 

 
The FX-1 Controller lets you remotely control the MCP-601’s cut, fade/mix, key, freeze, and memory 
features. The mix slider provides the convenient way to control the mix level between graphics and 
video.  
 
The FX-1 controller unit includes the FX-1 MagniCoder Pro control unit that contains the electronics to 
interface with the MCP-601 and the 8-pin phone wire cable. 
 
Connect the FX-1 control unit to the rear of the MCP-601 using the 8-pin phone wire.

The following FX-1 control unit buttons and slider bar controls the overlay of graphics onto video (see 
Figure 8.1). 

•

 

MIX 

 Sets the level of transparency of the graphic onto video.  For example, placing the slider bar 

completely to the bottom enables full video with no graphics.  Consequently, placing the slider bar 
completely to the top enables full graphics with no video.
