Keying and Graphics Filters
The MCP-601 MagniCoder Premier has added additional modes for Keying (both internal and
external keys) and filter on the graphics key signal to accommodate different key pattern
applications.
Effects of the various Filters:
The computer input filters are provided to improve the quality of the video output display for various
DVI/VGA graphics inputs. Vertical and horizontal filters are to smooth out the vertical flickering
effect and horizontal edges respectively on the incoming DVI/VGA graphics input. Optimum filter
settings depend on several DVI/VGA graphics parameters such as anti-aliasing and single line-width
object. Filters settings are on the Config Tab of Magni Premier application software. Following is a
summary of MCP-601 Keying and Graphics filters selection and their effects on the output video:
Computer Input Filters:
Vertical
Filter
•
Three different settings affecting the vertical lines;
Normal Flicker, Partial Flicker, and Reduced Flicker
•
Vertical line flicker reduction.
•
Softens vertical edge reduces single line flickering.
•
Can cause vertical halo on keyed color.
•
Anti-alias graphics input with Normal Flicker filter setting provide the best result.
Horizontal
filter
•
Two different settings affecting the horizontal lines;
H Filter On
and
H Filter Off
•
H Filter On reduces motion artifacts on graphics conversion. It also reduces video
overshoot on edges and improves color alignment.
•
H Filter Off provides sharpest picture on anti-alias and custom input graphics.
Keying
Filters (on the Key Tab of the Magni Premier software) affects the Key signal edges, thus
affect the graphics/video transition edges:
