Inspecting Large Drums
Inspect drums daily for signs of damage or wear.
DANGER
To avoid bodily injury or death from unexpected start-up or fall of a raised machine, stop engine, remove key, and
engage windrower lift cylinder safety props before going under machine for any reason.
CAUTION
Discblades have two sharp cutting edges that can cause serious injury. Exercise caution and wear gloves when working
with blades.
1.
Lower the header fully.
2.
Shut down the engine, and remove the key from the ignition.

Inspect drums (A) and (B) for damage and wear, and
replace if drum feed bars are worn at the center to 50% or
more of their original thickness. Do
NOT
repair drums.
5.
Examine drums for large dents. Replace dented drums to
prevent an imbalance in the cutterbar.
6.
Tighten or replace loose or missing fasteners.
WARNING
Ensure the cutterbar is completely clear of foreign objects.
Foreign objects can be ejected with considerable force when
the machine is started and may result in serious injury or
machine damage.
