BarCode Too Wide for Field of View (Stitching Function)
If the barcode is too wide for the field of view, you must “stitch” pieces of the
barcode together to capture the full barcode image. Follow the steps below to
stitch barcodes.
IMPORTANT
: This method of verification should be used for low volume
applications as it is time consuming and could be problematic with poor quality
bar codes, or bar codes with repetitive information within the bar code.
1. Click the
Grading
tab.
2. Click the
Ctrl + S
buttons on your keyboard to initiate the stitching
function.
Note:
You may stitch a barcode as many times as needed.
Extremely wide barcodes may require multiple stitching steps.
3. Adjust the image so the left edge of the barcode is visible. Be sure to
leave enough space for the left quiet zone. The blue line should go
through the linear (1D) portion of the label (see Figure below).
Note:
Instructions for each step are always located in the
window on the right side of the screen.
4. When the barcode is in its appropriate place, click the
Add
button (see
Figure below).
Note:
If the barcode fails to stitch, click the
Reset
button. Place
the barcode in a different start position and repeat the
aforementioned step.
Follow these
instructions.
Adjust the image so the
left edge of the barcode
is visible. Be sure to
leave enough space for
the left quiet zone.
