APPENDIX C: SITE CONFIGURATION USING A CSV FILE
61
If the Lighting Installer app isn't an option for you, the next most efficient means of site
configuration is a comma separated value (CSV) file. NorthStar can export an existing
lighting setup to CSV, which you then edit in a spreadsheet or text editor. Once new lights
are added in, you can import the CSV file with the new lights added.
For information on creating the initial CSV file, see Importing and Exporting Light
Configurations using a CSV File on page 58.
To configure a site using a CSV file:
1. Click
the
Export Lights
button to generate the initial CSV file.
2.
Open the CSV file. You'll notice 12 column headings corresponding to the
configuration information for lighting controllers.
* Indicates a Required Field
NOTE:
Field names don't necessarily correspond to what is in the user interface.
3.
Enter each new light as a separate row in the CSV file. When all lights are entered,
save the file, click the Import Lights button, and follow the on-screen instructions to
upload the new lights.
