15.18.2 Setting the lateral plunger blades

The lateral plunger blades (2) on the left and right side of the plunger (1) are set identically. The
procedure described hereinafter showing how to set the lateral plunger blades therefore applies
to both sides of the plunger (1).
„ Shut down and safeguard the machine, refer to page 25 .
„
Release the flywheel brake, refer to page 89 .
„ Turn the flywheel in the working direction ( refer to page 111 ) and move the plunger (1) once
completely to the rear and front. In doing so, watch the dimension X to the lateral plunger
blades (4).
Æ If the dimesion measures X=3–5 mm at the narrowest point during the whole movement,
the setting is correct.

If the dimesion does not measure X=3–5 mm at the narrowest point during the whole
movement, the plunger blades must be set.
Setting plunger blades
„
Apply the flywheel brake, refer to page 89 .
„ Loosen the screws (3).
„
Relocate the lateral plunger blades until the dimension measures X=3–5 mm .
„ Tighten the screws (3).
„
Release the flywheel brake, refer to page 89 .
„ Turn the flywheel in the working direction ( refer to page 111 ) and move the plunger (1) once
completely to the rear and front. In doing so, watch the dimension X to the lateral plunger
blades (4).

If the dimension does not measure X=3–5 mm at the narrowest point during the whole
movement, the process must be repeated until the dimension measures X=3–5 mm at the
narrowest point of the bale channel.
